Nick Langworthy Fails NY-23: Ignoring Farmers, the Constitution, National Security, and His Own Constituents
February 17, 2025 | by Renegade

Nick Langworthy, the Republican Congressional Representative for New York’s 23rd District, was elected to serve the people—but he’s not even pretending to do his job. In reality, he’s not doing it at all. He consistently ignores his constituents, refusing to respond to emails, skipping town halls, and dodging unscripted questions in interviews unless they’re pre-approved by his own staff.
What is Langworthy hiding? Why won’t he engage with the very people he was elected to represent? Until he decides to do his job and actually talk to the people he claims to represent, here is a running list of serious concerns he continues to ignore.
USAID Shutdown, USDA Layoffs & Impact on Farmers
- Elon Musk’s illegal shutdown of USAID canceled $2 billion in commodity purchases from U.S. farmers.
- Millions of dollars in food commodities are sitting at ports, rotting due to lack of distribution.
- No plan has been presented to compensate farmers or find them a new reliable buyer.
- Supports Musk and Trump’s firing of vital USDA employees who inspect our food and protect supply chains from invasive pests, causing long waits for inspections, leading to rotting food, lost profit for farmers, and higher grocery prices
- Cut all aid to food banks and banned them from purchasing food from local farmers, stripping small farmers of at least another $1 billion in profits
- Failure to address these crises threatens both the U.S. farm economy and national food security.

National Security and Safety Violations
- Musk’s employees with no security clearance accessed classified information, violating The Espionage Act and Executive Order 13526. (Source: Wired)
- These breaches pose a direct threat to national security.
- No response from Republicans, including Langworthy, on how they plan to address these violations.
- Failed to explain why Elon Musk and his Department of Government Efficiency team have access to sensitive tax return information for every single American.
- Trump fired more than 300 staffers from the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), unaware that this agency oversees America’s nuclear weapons. With no one managing our massive stockpile, the risk of theft or disaster is dangerously high. (Source: CNN)
- Failed to address how he plans to handle the dangerous safety issues affecting flights nationwide, including the numerous crashes resulting from Musk and Trump’s reckless and petty firing of the FAA chief.
- Trump, Musk, and the Republican Party have blatantly violated the Constitution and ignored the rule of law.
- Nick Langworthy, despite his oath to protect the Constitution, has cowardly allowed these fascists to trample all over it.
- It starts with immigrants being denied due process—but who is next? When will they begin arresting American citizens who have committed no crimes and denying them due process? When will political opponents, journalists, or ordinary people who dare to criticize them be targeted? History has proven that when authoritarian leaders strip legal protections from some, it’s only a matter of time before those abuses spread to everyone.
- Langworthy has failed to address Trump’s leak of confidential military information, putting U.S. troops in danger.
- His silence on the issue suggests complicity or indifference toward the risks posed to national security.
- Service members and military officials have expressed outrage over the administration’s handling of the leaked war plans.
Lack of Constituent Engagement & Transparency
- Langworthy refuses to respond to emails from constituents.
- He does not hold town halls or provide public forums for discussion.
- He only answers pre-approved questions in interviews, avoiding accountability, because he his a coward
- Only someone who knows they are doing the wrong thing avoids their own constituents
Contradictory & Harmful Policy Positions
- Claims to support law enforcement but backs the pardoning of police killers.
- Claims to support U.S. troops and veterans but openly backs efforts to dismantle programs that assist members of the military and veterans, such as Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives and firing VA employees
- Despite Trump’s promise that there would be no cuts to Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid, on February 25, 2025, Nick Langworthy voted ‘YEA’ on H.Con.Res.14, which cuts funding for Social Security and Medicare and nearly guts Medicaid—three programs thousands of his constituents rely on.
- Repeatedly claims on social media that there will be no cuts to Social Security benefits or layoffs of local staff, despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary—including massive layoffs that have led to soaring call wait times.
- Invites the Special Olympics to his office while voting against disability rights.
- Supports wasting millions of dollars of taxpayer money to fund research into vaccines and autism, even though numerous studies have already proven beyond a doubt that there is no connection between vaccines and autism.
- Repeatedly promotes division and incites violence against members of his own community on social media, demonstrating a lack of maturity and professionalism—proving he is unfit for office.
- Posted on his social media, verbatim, that in order to reduce melanoma rates: “The FDA needs to modernize its regulatory framework to expand access to innovative sunscreen products and take steps to improve quality control amid global supply chain challenges.”
- This social media post highlights Langworthy’s sheer stupidity, incompetence, and unfitness for office, as it fails to address how the FDA is supposed to accomplish this after 3,500 employees were just terminated under Trump.
- He also completely failed to mention that Republicans recently cut funding for cancer research.
- It also apparently slipped his mind that there is a known correlation between cancer, autoimmune disorders, and the high levels of pollution in the region’s air, soil, and waterways — all while Langworthy explicitly supported gutting the EPA and reversing environmental protections.
Conclusion
- Langworthy’s actions—or lack thereof—reveal a pattern of neglect, corruption, and allegiance to political interests over his own constituents.
- NY-23 deserves a representative who prioritizes farmers, national security, and the Constitution—not one who ignores crises and hides from accountability.
